Choose How to Start Your Gang Sheet

3 min readUpdated 2026-09-16

When the builder opens it shows a welcome screen — headed Welcome to Build a Gang Sheet — offering several ways to begin. Which options appear depends on what the shop has switched on and on what you already have in progress, so you may see anything from one to five.

Note

Shops can rename these options and add their own thumbnails, so the wording in your store may differ from the defaults below. The behaviour is the same.

The Options

Start a Brand New Gang Sheet opens an empty sheet. Upload your own artwork, pick designs from the gallery, and arrange them yourself. This is the standard route.

Open a Previously Ordered Gang Sheet lists the sheets you have ordered before so you can reorder one as-is or open it and change it. You need to be signed in for anything to appear here.

Auto Build takes a batch of designs, lets you set a size and quantity for each, and works out the layout for you. Use it when you have a lot of separate designs to fit and you do not want to place them by hand.

Open Working Gang Sheet picks up the sheet you were last working on. It only appears when there is an unsaved design already on the canvas, so if you do not see it, there is nothing in progress to return to.

Name and Number opens the roster tool for team and jersey work. It is off by default, so it only appears if the shop has enabled it on this product.

If an Option Is Missing

Auto Build is hidden automatically in several situations, even when the shop has it switched on:

  • You are viewing or editing an existing order.
  • The product requires an exact number of uploaded files rather than a free-form sheet.
  • The product uses a sticker or pattern layout rather than a plain gang sheet.

Open Working Gang Sheet is hidden whenever the canvas is empty.

Name and Number is hidden unless the shop has enabled the tool for the product you are on.

Note

Some shops skip the welcome screen entirely. If your builder opens straight into Auto Build or onto a blank sheet, that is a deliberate setting on the shop's side, not a fault.

Changing Your Mind

Closing the welcome screen leaves you on a blank sheet. You are not locked into the choice you made — the Gallery, Uploads, Name & Numbers and settings tabs are all in the tool rail once the builder is open, and Auto Build can be reopened from the working designs list.
