This is a shop owner task. It is done in your admin, not in the builder. Customers cannot add anything to the gallery themselves.
The gallery is the library of ready-made artwork your customers pick from inside the builder. Everything in it is organised into categories and tagged, and both of those directly drive how findable a design is — search matches titles and tags, so tagging is not optional housekeeping.
Before You Start
Uploads must be PNG, JPG or SVG. On Shopify, WebP is also accepted even though the panel does not say so.
The size limit per file is 100 MB on Shopify and 150 MB on the Standalone and WooCommerce versions.
Upload Artwork
- Open the Images page in your admin. The category tree is on the left and the images in the selected category on the right.
- Click Add Images at the top right. The Upload Images panel slides in from the side.
- Fill in Category. It is required. Start typing to match an existing category, or type a new name to create one on upload.
- Add Tags. Tags are searchable by your customers alongside the design title, so this is what makes a design findable when nobody knows its name.
- Drag your files onto the drop area, or click Browse Files and select them.
- The panel uploads the files five at a time and shows progress for each.
Name your files before you upload them. Each image's title defaults to its original filename, and IMG_4471.png is not something a customer will ever search for. You can rename an image afterwards, but doing it in your file manager first is faster than doing it one at a time in the admin.
If a File Is Already in the Gallery
When an upload matches an existing image, the panel offers three choices rather than silently duplicating it:
- Discard — skip this file and keep what you already have.
- Replace — overwrite the existing image with the new file.
- Create New — keep both as separate gallery entries.
Category Cover Images
Categories can carry their own cover image, which is what customers see as the folder tile if your gallery is set to folder view. Add one when you create or edit a category — the Upload category image (optional) field opens a cropper so you can frame it.
There is no crop step for the artwork itself. Uploaded files have their transparent edges trimmed automatically and are otherwise stored as supplied.
Making Designs Easier to Find
Two flags change how a design surfaces to customers, both set from the Actions menu on the Images page:
- Set as BestSeller puts a gold star on the design's tile in the builder and includes it in the customer's Best Sellers filter. Drop BestSeller removes it.
- Customers can favorite any design themselves. That is their own list, per customer account, and you cannot set it for them.
Keep category names short and tag generously. A customer typing "pumpkin" will find a design tagged pumpkin inside a category called Fall even if the design itself is titled "Autumn Gourd 03".
