Designer Settings

The Designer page controls which customization tools your customers can use when they personalize a product on your storefront. Turning tools on or off shapes the customer experience and helps make sure you only receive artwork you can actually produce.

Available tools

From Settings → Designer, you can enable or disable:

  • Text Tool — Lets customers add custom text to a product. Use this for name drops, team rosters, slogans, or any personalized wording.
  • Image Uploads — Lets customers upload their own artwork to place on a product.
  • Each tool has a simple toggle. Turn on the ones you want available and save your changes.

    Choosing what to enable

Think about what your shop can reliably print:

  • If you offer personalization like names and numbers, keep the Text Tool on so customers can enter their own wording.
  • If you're comfortable receiving customer-supplied artwork, enable Image Uploads — but be sure your team is ready to review files for print quality.
  • If you'd rather keep designs fully in your control, disable one or both tools so customers select from your ready-made options instead.
  • Working with related settings

Designer settings work alongside other parts of your shop:

  • Appearance settings control the customizer button and which file types customers may upload, so review both together.
  • Decoration methods determine the print areas and constraints the designer enforces.
  • Gallery settings control the watermark applied to proofs generated from customer designs.
  • Tips

  • Enable only the tools that match your production capabilities to avoid orders you can't fulfill.
  • If you enable image uploads, set your accepted file types in Appearance to match what your workflow supports.
  • Test the designer on your own storefront after changing these settings to confirm the customer experience looks right.
  • These settings let you strike the balance between customer freedom and production control that's right for your shop.
