Clone a Storefront

If you've already built a storefront you love, you don't have to start from scratch to make another one. Cloning copies an existing storefront's setup into a brand-new store, so you can reuse the design and layout while giving it its own name, handle, and web address.

When to Clone

Cloning is useful when you want to:

  • Launch a second store for a different brand, team, or seasonal campaign that shares your existing look.
  • Create a test or staging version of a store before making big changes.
  • Roll out a consistent template across multiple stores you manage.
  • How to Clone a Storefront

  • Go to Storefronts in the dashboard sidebar.
  • Find the storefront you want to copy in the list.
  • Open its actions menu (the icon) and choose Clone.
  • In the clone window, enter a Name for the new storefront.
  • Enter a Handle for its web address. Drip Merch suggests one based on the name and checks availability as you type — a green check means it's free.
  • Confirm to create the copy.
  • What Gets Copied

The clone starts with the same theme, layout, and configuration as the original, giving you a ready-made foundation. Because it's a new storefront, it gets its own:

  • Name and handle — the ones you entered.
  • Draft status — the clone starts unpublished, so you can review and adjust it before going live.
  • Separate orders and customers — the new store tracks its own activity independently of the original.
  • After Cloning

Once the clone is created, open it from the storefronts list to review the design, swap in the right products, update branding, and adjust settings. When everything looks right, publish it and share the link. See Brand Your Storefront and Publish and Share Your Storefront for the next steps.
