How Cart and Checkout Work

Every Drip Merch storefront comes with a complete, ready-to-use shopping flow. You don't need to build the cart or checkout yourself — they're included and work consistently across all themes. This article explains what your customers experience so you can support them confidently.

Adding Items to the Cart

  • On a product page, customers choose any required options (like size or color) using the variant selector.
  • They set a quantity if the product allows it.
  • They click Add to Cart. Products with options prompt them to Choose Options first.
  • A cart drawer slides in showing the items, quantities, and running subtotal.
  • The cart supports standard products as well as custom design items and gang sheet products, so decorated and print-shop orders flow through the same experience.

    Reviewing the Cart

  • Customers open the cart drawer or the full cart page.
  • They can update quantities or remove items.
  • The subtotal updates automatically.
  • When ready, they proceed to checkout.
  • Completing Checkout

Checkout guides customers through clear steps:

  • Contact details — name and email so you can send order updates.
  • Shipping address — street, city, region, postal code, and country (with support for the US, Canada, UK, and Australia among others).
  • Shipping method — for example, Standard or Express shipping.
  • Payment — customers pay securely; Drip Merch supports card payments through Stripe and other options depending on your store's setup.
  • Place the order — the totals, including shipping, are shown before they confirm.
  • Order Confirmation

After paying, customers land on an order confirmation page that confirms their purchase and shows the order details. If payment is processing, the page updates automatically once it's confirmed, so customers always know their order went through.

    Supporting Customers

Because the cart and checkout are built in and standardized, they behave reliably on every storefront and theme. If a customer has trouble, you can reassure them the flow is the same everywhere and check their order from your dashboard.
