General Settings: Store Email (Shopify)

2 min readUpdated 2026-09-16

The General page of the Drip Apps Shopify app shows the email address your store runs on, next to the other contact addresses the app uses. The app only displays it. The address itself lives in your Shopify admin, so that is where you change it.

See the Address the App Is Using

  1. Open the Drip Apps app from your Shopify admin.
  2. Click General in the app's left navigation.
  3. Find the Contact addresses card. Store email is the first row.
Important

Store email is read-only in the app. There is no field to type in and nothing to save. The app labels it "Set in your Shopify admin and used for system notifications".

Change the Store Email

  1. Leave the app and go to your Shopify admin.
  2. Click Settings in the lower-left corner of the dashboard.
  3. Open the General tab.
  4. Under Store details, click the store contact email and enter the new address.
  5. Click Save.
Note

The app does not read the address live. It captures it when the app is installed and refreshes it when Shopify sends a shop-update notification, so the General page can briefly show the old address after you save in Shopify. Reopening the app a minute later normally clears it.

The Field You Can Edit Here

The second row of the same Contact addresses card, Design edit request email, is editable in the app. That inbox receives the notification when a customer asks for an artwork edit, and it is separate from the store email. If a merchant says edit requests are going to the wrong inbox, this is the field to change, not the store email.

Why Keep the Store Email Current

  • Customers receive order confirmations and support replies from an address you actually monitor.
  • Billing notices, app alerts, and third-party integrations tied to the store email keep reaching you.
  • Correspondence with vendors, suppliers, and team members stays on a working address.
