Gang Sheet File Type decides the format of the print-ready file the app generates when a gang sheet is built. It is an output setting only: it has no effect on what customers upload or on how their designs look in the builder. Pick the format your RIP or printer expects.
Set the Default File Type
- Go to https://app.buildagangsheet.com/merchant/settings and sign in to the Drip Apps merchant panel.
- Open the Settings tab in the row of tabs across the top.
- Click Gang Sheet in the left-hand list of sections.
- Find Gang Sheet File Type and choose PNG, PDF, or TIFF.
- Click Save All under the section list.
Which Format to Choose
- PNG — the default and the most compatible option. A raster format that suits most desktop and DTF printers, and the safe choice if you are not sure.
- PDF — preserves the layout as a document, which suits vector-preserving output and batch printing setups.
- TIFF — a lossless format used by large-format and specialised commercial printers that require it.
PDF output is newer and far less tested than PNG. The app shows its own caution notice when you select it. Generate one sheet and check it on your own equipment before you run production work through it, because an incorrect output file is not something Drip Apps can take responsibility for.
Products Can Override This
The setting on the Gang Sheet tab is the shop-wide default. Each gang sheet product also has its own Gang Sheet File Type control in its product settings, and when a product carries a value, that value wins for every sheet built from it.
A product's file type does not inherit from the shop setting. It defaults to PNG, and it is written the first time the product is saved. So a product saved before you changed the shop default will keep producing PNG. If you switch the shop to PDF or TIFF and sheets still come out as PNG, open the product and change the file type there too.
