Targeting Collections

If you want a quantity break to cover a whole category rather than individual items, the specific collections visibility option is the fastest way to do it. Point a deal at one or more collections and every product inside them shows the offer.

When to Target Collections

  • Running a promotion across an entire category, like "all supplements."
  • Keeping an offer automatically up to date as you add products to a collection.
  • Applying consistent quantity breaks to a themed group without picking items one by one.
  • Selecting Your Collections

  • Open the deal and set its visibility to specific collections.
  • Choose the collections the deal should apply to.
  • You must select at least one collection — the app won't save a specific-collections deal with an empty list.
  • Save the deal.
  • How Membership Works

  • Any product that belongs to a selected collection will show the deal.
  • As you add or remove products from that collection in Shopify, the deal's coverage follows automatically — no need to edit the deal each time.
  • Excluding Products From a Collection Deal

  • You can still exclude individual products from a collection-targeted deal.
  • This is handy when a category is mostly eligible but a few items should stay at full price (see the exclusions article).
  • A Note on Specific Pricing

  • The specific discount type (precise per-unit pricing) isn't available for collection-targeted deals.
  • For collections, use percentage or fixed discounts on your tiers instead.
  • Previewing

After saving, open a product inside a targeted collection and confirm the deal bar appears. Then check a product outside the collection to confirm it stays unaffected. If coverage looks off, review which collections you selected and the product's collection membership in Shopify.
