Excluding Products

Sometimes an offer should cover almost everything — but not quite. Maybe a few items have thin margins, or a new release should stay at full price. Drip Discounts lets you exclude individual products from a deal so they're left out of the quantity break.

When Exclusions Are Useful

  • Running an all products deal but protecting a handful of low-margin items.
  • Running a collection deal but keeping one or two products in that collection at full price.
  • Temporarily pulling a product out of an offer without changing your whole targeting strategy.
  • How to Exclude Products

  • Open the deal you want to adjust.
  • Add the products you want to leave out to the deal's excluded products list.
  • Save the deal.
  • Those products will no longer show the deal bar or receive the discount, even though the rest of the deal's coverage is unchanged.
  • How Exclusions Interact With Visibility

  • With all products visibility, excluded products are the exception — everything shows the deal except the ones you exclude.
  • With specific collections visibility, excluded products are removed even if they belong to a selected collection.
  • Exclusions give you a clean "everything except these" pattern without listing every included product by hand.
  • Exclusions vs Specific-Product Targeting

  • Use exclusions when most of your catalog (or collection) should be included and only a few items left out.
  • Use specific products targeting when only a small set should be included in the first place.
  • Pick whichever list is shorter to maintain — that's usually the cleaner approach.

    Previewing

After saving, open an excluded product and confirm the deal bar does not appear and no discount applies. Then check an included product to confirm the offer still shows. If an excluded item still shows the deal, re-check that it's in the exclusion list and save again.
