Choosing Where a Deal Applies

Every deal has a visibility setting that decides which products show the quantity-break offer. Getting this right ensures your discounts appear exactly where you want them — and nowhere you don't.

The Three Visibility Options

1. All products — the deal applies across your entire catalog. Great for a store-wide "buy more, save more" promotion.
2. Specific products — the deal applies only to the products you pick. Ideal for targeting best-sellers or consumables.
3. Specific collections — the deal applies to every product inside the collections you choose. Perfect for running an offer on a whole category.

Setting Visibility

1. Open the deal you want to configure.
2. Choose one of the three visibility options.
3. If you picked specific products or specific collections, select the products or collections the deal should cover.
4. Save the deal.

What the App Requires

1. If you choose specific products, you must select at least one product before the deal can be saved.
2. If you choose specific collections, you must select at least one collection.
3. If you choose all products, no selection is needed — the deal applies everywhere by default.

These checks prevent you from accidentally saving a targeted deal that has nothing to apply to.

Overlap Is Blocked, Not Just Discouraged

Drip Discounts refuses to save a deal whose coverage overlaps an existing one. The message is "You have selected products or collections that overlaps with another Deal blocks."

These are the exact rules:

1. Two All-products deals always clash. You can only ever have one All-products deal.
2. All products plus Specific collections always clashes, whatever collections you picked.
3. All products plus Specific products clashes unless every product in the narrower deal is in the broad deal's exclusion list.
4. Two Specific-products deals clash if they share even one product.
5. Two Specific-collections deals clash if they share even one collection.
6. A Specific-products deal and a Specific-collections deal never clash with each other, even if the products sit inside those collections.

Making a Narrow Deal Live Alongside a Broad One

To run a special offer on a few products while an All-products deal covers everything else:

1. Open the All-products deal.
2. Add those products to its Exclude products list and save.
3. Now create the narrow Specific-products deal on exactly those products.

Excluding is the only sanctioned way to make the two coexist.

Previewing

After saving, open a product that should show the deal and one that shouldn't, and confirm the deal bar appears only where intended. If it's not showing where expected, double-check the visibility choice and your product or collection selections.
