Managing Answer Choices

Answer choices are the predefined options shoppers pick from in dropdown, radio, and checkbox questions. Well-chosen options make your survey fast to complete and your reports easy to read, because everyone selects from the same consistent set.

Add choices to a question

  • Open the question you're editing in Drip Surveys.
  • Confirm the type is dropdown, radio, or checkbox (textarea doesn't use choices).
  • Add each answer option as its own choice.
  • Save your configuration.
  • Edit or remove choices

  • Open the question and find the choice you want to change.
  • Update the text, or delete choices you no longer need.
  • Save. The updated choices are pushed to your storefront survey.
  • Tips for good choices

  • Keep options short and scannable — a few words each works best on a checkout page.
  • Avoid overlap so shoppers aren't unsure which one to pick.
  • Cover the common answers for "How did you hear about us?" — for example, Google, Instagram, Facebook, Friend, Other.
  • Order them logically, most-likely answers first.
  • Good to know

    • At least one choice is required for dropdown, radio, and checkbox questions. Saving without any will be rejected with a validation message.
    • Checkbox questions can return several selected choices in a single response — they're stored together as one answer.
    • Radio and dropdown accept only one selection per question.
    • If you change a question's type to textarea, its existing choices are dropped, since free-text questions don't use them.
Clear, consistent choices pay off later when you review responses and export your data.
