Generating Questions With AI

Not sure what to ask? Drip Surveys includes an AI question generator that drafts a set of post-purchase survey questions for you in seconds. It's a fast way to get a solid starting point that you can then edit to fit your brand and goals.

Generate a set of questions

  • Open Drip Surveys in your Shopify admin.
  • Go to the questions section.
  • Click the option to generate questions with AI.
  • Wait a moment while Drip Surveys creates a fresh set of suggestions.
  • Review the generated questions and their answer choices.
  • What the AI produces

The generator creates a set of survey questions designed specifically for the post-purchase moment — the thank-you and order status pages. It draws on themes such as:

  • Product-specific questions
  • Overall shopping and user experience
  • Shipping and delivery
  • Customer satisfaction and support
  • Purchase behavior (like how the shopper found your store)
  • Each generated question comes with an appropriate answer type. Multiple-choice questions include ready-made options, while open-ended ones use a free-text box.

    Review and refine

  • Edit any question title to match your voice.
  • Adjust the answer type if you'd prefer, for example, radio over dropdown.
  • Tweak the choices — add, remove, or reword options.
  • Delete questions you don't want and keep the ones you love.
  • Save your configuration when you're happy.
  • Good to know

    • The AI generates questions tailored to a checkout thank-you context, so they focus on things a customer can realistically answer right after buying.
    • Generated questions are suggestions — always review them before enabling your survey.
    • You can regenerate to get a different set if the first draft doesn't fit.
    • Open-ended (textarea) questions won't include answer choices, by design.
Treat AI output as a first draft: a quick review and a few edits usually turn it into a survey that's perfectly on-brand.
