Creating And Editing Questions

Questions are the heart of your survey. In Drip Surveys, you build a list of one or more questions, each with its own title, answer type, and (where relevant) a set of answer choices. Your survey needs at least one question before it can be saved and shown at checkout.

Add a question

Open Drip Surveys in your Shopify admin.

Go to the survey/questions section.

Click to add a new question.

Enter a question title — this is the text shoppers read (up to 255 characters).

Pick an answer type: dropdown, radio, checkbox, or textarea.

Add answer choices if the type requires them (every type except textarea).

Save your configuration.

Edit a question

Locate the question you want to change in the list.

Update its title, type, or choices.

Save. The updated survey is pushed to your storefront so shoppers see the new version.

Reorder questions

Each question has a position that controls the order it appears in the survey. Arrange them so the flow feels natural — for example, lead with "How did you hear about us?" before more detailed feedback questions.

Remove a question

Find the question you no longer need.

Delete it from the list.

Save. Remember you must keep at least one question, or the survey can't be saved.

Good to know

Titles support personalization tokens. Use %customer_name% and %customer_email% in a question title to insert the shopper's name or email automatically.
Question titles are limited to 255 characters, so keep them concise.
Textarea questions don't use choices — they show a free-text box instead.
Non-textarea questions require at least one choice. Saving a dropdown, radio, or checkbox question without any choices will be rejected.
