Sometimes you'll want to unlink Instagram from Drip Socials — for example, if you're switching to a different account or you no longer want your feed to update. Drip Socials makes this a one-click action.
Disconnect Instagram
- Open Drip Socials from your Shopify admin.
- Go to your account/connection area.
- Click Disconnect (log out of Instagram).
- The app clears your Instagram connection right away.
What Happens When You Disconnect
Disconnecting removes the link between Drip Socials and your Instagram account. Specifically, the app clears:
- Your saved access token
- Your connected username and display name
- Your profile picture, follower count, and following count
- Your Instagram user ID and the token expiry date
- Media permission, which is reset to off
disconnecting does not delete your stored posts or your feed blocks. Your blocks keep their settings, the stored images stay in place, and the feed on your storefront carries on rendering those same posts — it simply never updates again. If you want the feed gone from your store, remove the InstaPulse Feed block in your theme editor as well.
When to Disconnect
- Switching accounts — disconnect the old account before connecting a new one.
- Pausing your feed — if you want to stop pulling content temporarily.
- Troubleshooting — a clean disconnect and reconnect can resolve permission or token issues.
Reconnecting Later
You can reconnect at any time by clicking Connect Instagram again and approving the permissions. Once reconnected, Drip Socials immediately fetches your latest posts and profile details, and your feed resumes updating.
