Disconnect Your Instagram Account

Sometimes you'll want to unlink Instagram from Drip Socials — for example, if you're switching to a different account or you no longer want your feed to update. Drip Socials makes this a one-click action.

Open Drip Socials from your Shopify admin.

Go to your account/connection area.

Click Disconnect (log out of Instagram).

The app clears your Instagram connection right away.

What Happens When You Disconnect

Disconnecting removes the link between Drip Socials and your Instagram account. Specifically, the app clears:

Your saved access token
Your connected username and display name
Your profile picture, follower count, and following count
Media permission

After disconnecting, Drip Socials will no longer fetch new posts. Your feed loses its live source, so it will stop updating.

When to Disconnect

Switching accounts — disconnect the old account before connecting a new one.
Pausing your feed — if you want to stop pulling content temporarily.
Troubleshooting — a clean disconnect and reconnect can resolve permission or token issues.

Reconnecting Later

You can reconnect at any time by clicking Connect Instagram again and approving the permissions. Once reconnected, Drip Socials immediately fetches your latest posts and profile details, and your feed resumes updating.
