Connect Your Instagram Account

Before Drip Socials can show a feed on your storefront, it needs to connect to your Instagram account. This is done through Meta's official, secure login flow — Drip Socials never sees or stores your Instagram password.

Connect Instagram

1. Open Drip Socials from your Shopify admin.
2. Click the Connect Instagram button.
3. You'll be redirected to Instagram/Meta to log in and review the access Drip Socials is requesting.
4. Approve the permissions to allow Drip Socials to read your media and profile.
5. You'll be sent back to Drip Socials automatically once the connection is complete.

What Happens After You Connect

As soon as the connection succeeds, Drip Socials:

1. Saves a secure access token for your account, stamped to expire in 60 days. Your password is never seen or stored.
2. Pulls in your profile details — name, username, profile picture, follower count, following count and post count.
3. Checks that it can actually read your media, and records the result as a separate permission flag.
4. Queues an immediate fetch of your 20 most recent posts.

Because the fetch runs on a background queue, your posts appear in the app a moment after you land back on it rather than instantly.

Which Account to Use

Connect the Instagram account whose posts you want on your store. The username and name you connect are what will appear in the optional profile header of your feed, and the Follow button will link to that account.

Permissions Explained

Drip Socials requests read access to your media (so it can display your posts) and basic profile information (so it can show your name, picture, and follower stats). It does not request the ability to post, delete, or modify anything on your Instagram account.
