Publish Ticket Submission Forms

3 min readUpdated 2026-09-16

Ticket forms give your customers a clean, branded way to submit a request straight into TixTalk. You design the fields, customize the look, and either share a hosted link or embed the form on your own website. Every submission becomes a ticket in your queue automatically.

Build your form

  1. Go to Settings, then Ticket Forms under Productivity.
  2. Select New Form, give it a name, and set a slug (the short identifier used in the form's link). The slug is generated from the name and can be edited.
  3. Add the fields you want to collect. Field types are text, long text, email, phone, number, dropdown (select), multi-select, checkbox, date and file upload.
  4. For each field, set its label, tick Required if it must be filled in, and optionally add placeholder text (on text, long text, email, phone and number fields) and help text. Dropdown and multi-select fields take a list of options.
  5. Mark one form as the default if you want it used when no specific form is named.
  6. Save the form.
Note

Beyond the required tick box and the field type itself, there are no extra validation rules to configure — you cannot set minimum or maximum lengths, numeric ranges or pattern matching.

Customize the look

Make the form match your brand so it feels like a natural part of your site.

  1. Set your primary color, text color and background color.
  2. Adjust the border radius and pick a font. Unlike the chat widget, the font you choose here is applied to the real form.
  3. Choose whether to show the "Powered by TixTalk" branding.

The logo shown on a form is your workspace logo from Settings, then Company Info — there is no per-form logo upload in the dashboard.

Note

Forms cannot be assigned to a brand from the dashboard. Every form belongs to the workspace as a whole.

Share or embed the form

You have two ways to put a form in front of customers.

  1. Hosted link — each form has its own public page at https://tixtalk.com/submit/your-workspace-slug/your-form-slug. No customer login is required, and you can open it from the form list to check it. Adding ?email= or ?name= to that link pre-fills those two fields.
  2. Embed on your site — open the form and copy its embed snippet. It loads the TixTalk form script from https://tixtalk.com/embed/ticket-form.js and renders the form inside a container element on your page. Paste it into any website, or into platforms like Shopify or WordPress.

When embedding, you can pass known customer details in the snippet — email, name, phone, company and custom fields — so those fields are filled in for a signed-in customer.

What happens after submission

Each completed form creates a new ticket in TixTalk with the customer's details and everything they entered, and the submitter is matched to a contact or a new one is created. From there the ticket behaves like any other: it appears in your views, and macros can be applied to it.

Warning

The success screen tells the customer you will send updates to their email address, but no confirmation email is sent when a form is submitted. Your first reply from the ticket is the first email they receive.
