Not Receiving Notification Emails
Expecting an email each time a customer responds but nothing's arriving? Notification issues usually trace back to a setting or a mail delivery snag. Here's how to diagnose it.
Checklist
Are notifications turned on? Open Drip Surveys, go to notification settings, and confirm email notifications are enabled. Save if you change it.
Are recipients set correctly? Check that the recipient email address is entered and spelled correctly.
Are responses actually coming in? Notifications only send when a response is submitted. Confirm new responses appear in your responses list.
Check spam and filters. Look in your spam or junk folder, and check any inbox rules that might be diverting the message.
Confirm it end to end
Ensure your survey is live and can be submitted (see the survey-not-showing article if needed).
Place a test order and submit a survey response.
Verify the response appears in the Drip Surveys dashboard.
Check the recipient inbox — including spam — for the notification.
Good to know
- Responses are always saved to your dashboard even if the email doesn't arrive, so you never lose feedback.
- If you customized the email content with
%customer_name% or %customer_email% tokens, a typo won't stop the email — it just won't replace the token.
- Notifications are enabled by default, so if you've never changed the setting, the most likely culprits are the recipient address or spam filtering.
If responses are recorded but emails never arrive, focus on the recipient address and your mail provider's spam handling first.
