Which Post Types Appear in Your Feed
Drip Socials pulls in different kinds of Instagram content and displays them all as images in your grid. Here's how each post type is handled so you know what to expect.
Supported Post Types
Drip Socials includes three kinds of Instagram posts:
- Photos — displayed using the post's image.
- Videos — displayed using the video's thumbnail (still) image. The feed shows the thumbnail, not a playing video.
- Carousel albums — multi-image posts are displayed using the album's cover image.
Why Everything Shows as an Image
Your feed is a clean image grid, so every post type is represented by a single still image. Videos use their thumbnail and carousels use their cover so the grid stays uniform and loads quickly. If you've enabled the Go to Instagram click behavior, visitors can click any post to view the full video or full carousel on Instagram.
Ordering
Posts appear newest-first, filling your grid from the top. As you publish new content, it moves to the front of the feed and older posts shift back or drop off, depending on your grid size and the app's media limit.
Posts That May Not Appear
Occasionally a post might not display if the necessary image data isn't available for it. In practice this is rare — the vast majority of photos, videos, and carousels appear normally.
Tips
- To let shoppers watch videos or browse full carousels, enable Go to Instagram so posts link out.
- Keep a healthy mix of content on Instagram so your grid always looks full and engaging.
- Deleted posts are removed from your feed automatically on the next refresh.
