Which Post Types Appear in Your Feed

Your feed is a grid of still images, so every Instagram post has to produce a single usable image URL before it can be displayed. There is no setting for this — the rule is fixed in the app.

The rule

Drip Socials looks at each fetched post's media type and picks an image accordingly:

1. Image — uses the post's own image.
2. Video — uses the video's thumbnail. The feed shows a still, never a playing video.
3. Carousel album — included only if the post carries a top-level image. If it does not, the post is dropped.
4. Anything else — dropped. Any media type Instagram returns that is not one of the three above is not stored at all.

Posts are dropped silently

This matters most with carousels. Some carousel posts come back from Instagram without a top-level image, and those never appear in your feed even though they look perfectly normal on Instagram.

Ordering

Posts appear newest first, filling the grid from the top left. As you publish new content it moves to the front and older posts shift back or fall out of the stored set of 20.

What to do about a missing post

There is no per-post control in Drip Socials, so you cannot force a dropped post in.

1. Confirm the post is inside your 20 most recent Instagram posts. Older posts are not stored at all.
2. If it is recent and still missing, it is almost certainly a carousel or media type without a usable image.
3. The practical workaround is to re-post the content on Instagram as a single image.

Good to know

• Enabling the Go to Instagram click behaviour lets visitors click through to watch the full video or browse the whole carousel on Instagram.
• Deleted Instagram posts are removed from your feed on the next sync.
