Setting a Default Tier
When a product page loads, one tier can be pre-selected in the deal bar. This "default" tier is a quiet but powerful nudge — shoppers tend to stick with the option that's already chosen, so picking the right default can lift your average order value.
How the Default Works
Each deal can have one tier marked as the default option.
That tier appears already selected when the shopper opens the product page.
The shopper can still switch to any other tier freely — the default just sets the starting point.
Marking a Tier as Default
Open the deal and select the tier you want pre-selected.
Turn on the default option setting for that tier.
Save the deal.
Load a product page to confirm the tier is selected on arrival.
Choosing Which Tier to Default
Default to a mid or higher tier to anchor shoppers on a bigger bundle and stronger discount — this is the most common way to raise average order value.
Default to the base tier if you'd rather let shoppers opt up on their own and keep the entry price front and center.
Pairing With Labels
Combine the default tier with a badge like "Most popular" or "Best value" (see the labels article).
The pre-selection plus a strong label reinforces that this is the smart choice.
Testing Your Default
Try defaulting to different tiers and watch your analytics over time.
Compare added revenue and sold items to see which default performs best for that product.
A well-chosen default is one of the lowest-effort, highest-impact tweaks you can make — save the deal, preview it, and let the numbers guide your final choice.
