Configuring Recipients and Email Content

Beyond simply turning notifications on, Drip Surveys lets you decide who gets notified and exactly what the email says. This article covers setting recipients and tailoring the subject and body.

Set your recipients

  • Open Drip Surveys in your Shopify admin.
  • Go to the notification settings.
  • Enter the email address(es) that should receive new-response alerts.
  • Save your changes.
  • Point notifications at whoever needs to act on feedback — a shared support inbox, a marketing address, or your own email.

    Customize the subject line

  • In notification settings, edit the email subject field.
  • Write a subject that's easy to spot in a busy inbox, such as "New survey response received."
  • Save.
  • Customize the email body

  • Edit the email content field.
  • Write the message you'd like to receive with each notification.
  • Optionally include personalization tokens (see below).
  • Save.
  • Personalization tokens

The email content supports two tokens that are filled in with the responding customer's details:

  • %customer_name% — the shopper's name.
  • %customer_email% — the shopper's email address.
  • For example, a body of "New feedback from %customer_name% (%customer_email%)" arrives with the real name and email filled in.

    Good to know

    • Type tokens exactly, including the percent signs, or they won't be replaced.
    • If notifications are turned off, these settings are saved but no emails are sent until you turn them back on.
    • Responses are always recorded in the dashboard regardless of your notification setup.
With recipients and content set, your team will get timely, clearly-worded alerts every time feedback rolls in.
